Skills & Abilities Required:

  • To be successful in this position, you MUST HAVE good communication skills and have an assertive, pro-active, approach to problem solving and decision making; must be able to create standard work; must by proficient with Microsoft office, with special emphasis on Microsoft Excel. Candidate should have excellent written communication and time management skills. Candidate should have a cooperative personality. Candidate must maximize technical know-how for automatic manufacturing equipment within AEIL, establish continuous improvement and problem solving techniques and apply as daily working routine according to AEIL standards, apply scheduling and project management principles, manage technical and non-technical issues, and lead and launch projects, actions, and initiatives according to KPI levels. Knowledge of TPS and JIT is a plus.

Minimum Level of Preparation & Training Required:
An Associate’s degree in a relative field is required; a 4 year degree is preferred. Prior manufacturing experience as well as supervisory experience is preferred.

ORGANIZATIONAL (AND OUTSIDE) RELATIONSHIPS

● All other AEIL Departments and various outside vendors.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

● Some dust, noise, oils, greases, grinding debris, compressed air, metal shavings, propane, solvents and occasional heavy lifting.

● Exposed to hazardous machinery and/or conditions that could result in injury up to and including a fatality if safety measures are not followed and adhered to.

● Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, oils. The performance of this position normally requires exposure to a typical manufacturing areas were under certain conditions that require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety shoes and safety glasses.

● Open staff room with constant activity and interaction with cross-functional divisions, departments, and sections. Must be able to effectively change tasks at a moment's notice when the situation requires.

Duties:

  • . This position will perform analysis of repetitive equipment failures, estimation of maintenance costs and evaluation of alternatives, forecast spare parts, assess the need for equipment replacements and establish replacement programs when due, assess and report safety hazards associated with maintenance of equipment, evaluate and recommend any upgrades and changes needed to improve performance of equipment and systems. Support requirements include, but are not limited to OA up meetings and activities, kaizen improvement activities, preventative maintenance activities, change point management within maintenance, maintenance improvement projects, yokoten activities related to major failures. This position will support and coordinate activities, at an engineering level, of each area within the maintenance department, and develop improvement strategies.
